Believe in YOU

Believe in YOUSometimes all it takes is to Believe in you!  I know it sounds crazy but as moms we are so busy worrying about everyone else, making sure everyone else feels empowered that we stop to remember ourselves.  Have you ever been there?  I know I have and then I would wonder why my pants were getting tight, why I didn’t feel good, and why I was ALWAYS tired.  After spending so much time focusing on others FINALLY I woke up and realized I NEEDED BALANCE!  I needed to determine what was important to me and what I REALLY needed. Don’t get me wrong my family is and will always be important but if I always want to be here for them; to provide, empower, and support like every good mom yearns I needed to find BALANCE for myself.

Finding balance is easier said than done!  I realized that one of my biggest flaws was the negative self talk!  I needed to STOP saying I can’t and start replacing it with a new belief that I can and I am enough!   I needed to stop wishing and start doing.  I needed to make time for me and focus on what I truly wanted out of life to be happy!  Again, I know it sounds selfish but in order to be 100% for my family I had to give back to myself, make time for me, and focus on what I really needed and wanted to accomplish!    My plan was to give myself one hour a day for ME.  It didn’t have to be a complete hour, I could break it up into chunks throughout my day but in order to create balance I needed one hour to plan, prepare, and do the things I needed to do to feel better and to be HEALTHY for my family.

So where did I start?  First I needed to decide what it was I truly wanted.  I realized I was 40 pounds overweight, I was tired, and I was not doing anything for myself to make me feel good (reading personal development, massage/chiropractic/therapy, fueling my body with the proper nutrients) so I decided to make a plan.  I began drinking shakeology which a girlfriend introduced me to and I thought was EXPENSIVE!  However I took the leap of faith and decided to commit to it for 3 months to see what it would do for me!  What I learned was this….When I invested in Shakeology I was really investing in myself!  I was supplying my body with a dense superfood health food shake that in turn supplied my body with all the vitamins, nutrients, probiotics, prebiotics, antioxidants, and super foods from around the world that my body was craving!  I realized that when I drank Shakeology I felt more energized, didn’t feel tired at 2 pm, slept better at night (well when my kids slept too), had more energy to push harder during my workouts, and had a huge boost in my immunity (being a teacher for 15 years I would get sick every other month with something).  I learned that it wasn’t a diet shake or just another protein shake.  I learned that shakeology was the super food ingredient that my body was craving.  I knew that I couldn’t just drink Shakeology once a day and expect a miracle to happen.  I actually had to put in the work, make sacrifices and believe in myself that I COULD CHANGE!  Looking back I am so happy that I decided I WAS WORTH IT and that I invested in me!  Shakeology has become a daily habit and will ALWAYS be a part of my life!

Today, I still have daily battles just like you but, what I stay focused on is the mom I want to be!  How I want to feel and how many other lives I can help.  All it took was one person caring for me enough to reach out and then believing in me more than I believed in myself to foster change.  I know that I feel so much better today than I did even when I was 20!  Health is more than a number on a scale or a jean size.  Health is about HOW YOU FEEL every day!  I am not that depressed, overweight, and overstressed mom that I was just a few years ago.  I have more energy now than I did when I was in my 20’s.  Even though I may be a larger pant size than I was when I graduated I feel so much HEALTHIER now because I am making time and investing in me.  Planning my meals, drinking my shake, exercising daily (even when I don’t want to), being hydrated (realizing how important water is) and getting the proper amount of sleep (sleep can be a cure all) has been a life changing event. I could not have done this alone but I love my community of supporters.  They help me feel like I belong and let me know that I am human!  I would have never been where I am today without BELIEVING in myself enough to invest in me.  Then knowing and telling myself daily that I am enough!  You can do it too!  BELIEVE in YOU!
